Welcome to the official web site of the umbrella association for the rockhounding clubs of British Columbia, Canada

The British Columbia Lapidary Society is a non-profit organization founded to encourage and promote the lapidary hobby in British Columbia. The organization consists of 31 charter clubs, with a combined membership of approximately 1,200 people who collect rocks, minerals, crystals and fossils. We offer scholarships and are a member of the Gem and Mineral Federation of Canada.

To get started working in a lapidary shop, or begin exploring British Columbia for interesting rocks and minerals, locate and join your community rock and gem club. Members of our chartered clubs are also members of the British Columbia Lapidary Society and have the ability to participate in our field trips and annual events including Rendezvous, Summer Camp, and Gemboree. Most of our charter clubs run lapidary workshops at community centres or purpose-built facilities and allow their members to access equipment and specialty programming for a nominal fee.
