Member Rock and Gem Clubs

The British Columbia Lapidary Society is an umbrella organization of 30 community clubs accross the province. Below is a list of our member clubs and their respective contact information. If you are interested in rocks, gems, minerals, and the earth sciences, consider joining your local club. Most clubs host monthly meetings, field trips, and annual rock and gem shows.

Clubs not in the Lower Mainland / Fraser Valley are grouped into four different Zones, including the Vancouver Island Zone, Kootenay Zone, Interior Zone, and Northern Zone. Clubs in a Zone often pool their memberships and work together on hosting rock related events in their region.

Lower Mainland / Fraser Valley

The Lower Mainland / Fraser Valley is composed of 9 clubs. Have a look below to find the club nearest to your community.

Abbotsford Rock & Gem Club

The Abbotsford Rock & Gem Club was originally known as the M.S.A. Rock & Lapidary Club, which was formed on April 9, 1979. The club was originally formed to promote rockhounding and lapidary to seniors. The Abbotsford Rock & Gem Club became a member of the Gem & Mineral Federation of Canada in January 1998 and a Chartered Member Club of The Lapidary Rock & Mineral Society of British Columbia on May 17, 1998. The Club continues to host field trips and inspire its members to develop their lapidary, metal work and field research. Many club members have expertise in lapidary, silversmithing, lost wax, gemstone faceting & cabochons, beading, carving and precious metal clay. For more information visit our website.
